Not on the High Street
I discovered a fabulous UK-based online shop the other day, called Not On the High Street. It’s seems to be a similar concept to Etsy, where the shop supports small businesses instead of huge retailers. It was started in April 2006 by Holly Tucker and Sophie Cornish. The girls were tired of buying products that were the same as everyone else’s. They also wanted to help the small businesses who were so passionate about their products, but only had access to the public through street markets.
They have so many categories, like “Home and Garden“, “Fashion“, “Jewellery” and “Gifts“, but my favourite is the “Eco” category. Most of the eco products are either vintage or made from re-used materials. Here are some of my choices below.
Unfortunately, many of the products for sale on Notonthehighstreet.com can only be shipped to customers within the UK, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look and feel excited and inspired by what we see. Enjoy!
