International Shipping

I need some help. I’m really not happy with the service of the shipping company that we’re using to get our parcels to international customers. They’re a susbsidiary of TNT who offer a service which is cheaper than couriering the parcels, but safer than sending through the post office. There seems to be a loophole though, that they can track them, but only to a point.

I’ve just had our first order go missing (the ones I mentioned last time were found and delivered!) and it was worth quite a bit of money. What I don’t really like is that the company just can’t seem to give me an answer as to what ever happened to it – not even whether it left South Africa! I realise that parcels will unfortunately go missing from time to time, it’s more the service surounding the fact that hasn’t impressed me at all.

What I want to know is if any of you know of or use a particularly reliable, and affordable, shipping service. Most of our parcels are between 1 and 3 kgs. I really would like for them to be tracked, but it can’t be a crazily expensive door-to-door service. The post office doesn’t seem to offer tracking on international orders. Not sure what else to do?

If you have advice for me, I’d so appreciate it. Either comment below or drop me a mail: sarah@babazeka.com. Thank you!

Hi Sarah - Yes I used to use Postnet, but am using the post office now because of the tracking option! It would be lovely to have a safe, reliable affordable option!

For parcels to the USA it's possible to track regular registered post online. Some other countries as well, but not all.
  • Thanks so much Jezze, will re-chat to the post office. Got some really
useful emails about other postal companies too so looking into all the
    options! All the best, Sarah
